The Chladni Progression: The Power to Heal

Below is an online tool from Wolfram. You can scroll down and click on the expand window icon to isolate the interactive which will allow you to create a virtual Chladni figure, or work within the wondow to see how changing the number of nodes affects the colored pattern. The generated form may not be as elaborate as those generated by Chladni or subsequently, but it will give you an idea on how sound energy can be visualized by changing parameters. Just to get you started, solve the clues and plug in the values in the variables for the Square plate. Change the number of recursions. Switch to only nodes. (I'm happiest at 0, but try all the variations)

Strange Fire

For those who have purchased the 1st Edition, printed in Israel. I've posted several factual corrections. My grammar skills were never good, as per my AP English Teacher and my syntax and sentance construction has changed. Edits I thought were made were not double-checked by the publisher (me). The essence of the story has not changed. Of note was the total number of edits I made and the significance of that number in terms of Gematria. It's a bit of a spoiler, so if you're interested do drop me a line. Your indulgence with the errata is greatly appreciated.

• Cover Image The cover image shows an incomplete Tree of Life. In this image, the Tree is not only "missing" the left-sided Sephirot of Bina (Understanding), Gevura (Strength/Fortitude/Severity), and Hod (Splendor), as well as Malchut (Royalty/Kingship/Queenship as related to the Shechinah). None are rally missing just hidden in this image. What is noticeably "missing" are the connectors (the Mothers) between the left and right side of the Tree of Life. Again, not really missing. This image is found on the frist printing with a revised image containing the connectors between the left and right side visible in the image. There is a long and drawn out explanation that relates to the Strange Fire story and the Hebrew letters of the alphabet associated with each (from top to bottom: Shin, Aleph, Mem) which can be used to form several words: Shem שמ (name), Aish אש (fire), Aim אמ (mother). Within the context of Strange Fire fire is interesting, as is the hint to name since the question is posed: Who is Joshua E. Katz?

• Page 40 "...twenty-seven minutes of video footage" should read forty-seven minutes of video footage. This is the video compiled by the IDF and Israeli government from Hamas and Islamic Jihad footage posted by the perpetrators of October 7th and the aftermath documented by First Responders to the site of the Nova Music Festival, along the highways, and in and around the Kibbutzim of Southern Israel in what is known as Otef Aza.

• Page 96 "The letter Shin is constructed from a combination of Vavs and Yuds; the flames are formed with the letter Vav, and at the top of the three Vavs are Yuds, whereas at the bottom, the Yud joins the three flames." The text should read: ...whereas at the bottom, the Vav joins the three flames. When my book designer asked me if there was a specific letter in the Hebrew alphabet that was significiant/particularly relevant to the book, I told him the letter, Shin. Ironic.

• Page 125 "Hamas terrorists threw seven grenades into the shelter, all were tossed back out by Aner… the eighth, however, found its hero target, killing Aner and severing Hersh’s arm below his elbow." Recently, I've heard that it was the ninth grenade, not the eighth. Using the dashcam footage and reported accounts, I counted the number of grenades thrown into the roadside shelter. I stand corrected if it was nine... In either case, Aner Shapira (z"l) stood as a hero in defense of others. I visited this small roadside shelter which provided temporary refuge for twenty-nine young people. Four of them were kidnapped into Gaza; and, seven survived the day and returned home to their families by hiding under the dead bodies of the others who were murdered there. As of this writing (31/03/2025), Alon Ohel, one of the four people taken with Hersh Goldberg-Polin (z"l), is still being held by Hamas in Gaza. Alon, a talented musician and pianist, is injured, suffering shrapnel wounds in his eye and has received NO medical attention to address his injuries since his abduction on October 7th.

• Page 266 "A dominant green mixed with traces of red where green was the color of the emerald gemstone associated with the tribe of Judah and the red perhaps like the garnet gemstone also associated with the tribe of Judah." This particular section speaks of the precious and semi-precious stones (Avnei HaChoshen) associated with the 12 Tribes, specificaly as these are found on the Kohen Gadol (High Priest's) breastplate. The text should read: the emerald gemstone associated with the tribe of Levi and the red perhaps like the garnet gemstone also associated with the tribe of Judah.

• Page 351 "As they made their way to the main entrance, the third explosion shook the cavern floor, sending a plume of dense smoke and debris racing through the Freemason’s Hall. They crouched low, avoiding the worst of it." This paragraph was to be deleted due to temporal displacement that had this explosive device going off too soon! (It does go off in a little bit in another page or two)

• Acknowledgement Section An older version of the acknowledgement section was used; as a result a few names were left off the gratitude list, and the English rather Hebrew version of names as well. Most importantly, the last paragraph was left off which reads: I’ll close with a very special thank you to all those who let me share some of the most beautiful and painful parts of your lives and put them on the pages of Strange Fire. Most especially, thank you Ha-Shem for giving me the heart and wisdom to write Strange Fire.
